Adding my father to my birth certificate

Hi
Hope someone can give any advice on this matter.
I never knew my father and on my birth certificate his name is blank. I’m 50 years old and had done a DNA test on Ancestry and to my absolute shock I found my half brother in Australia.
My father is still alive and living in New Zealand.
We want to put his name on my birth certificate but my mum won’t entertain this at all.
Can I do this firstly without her consent and secondly with him being in New Zealand?
I’m desperate for this to happen as he isn’t in the best of health.
Thanks in advance

You might have to go through the Courts then. Might involve a dna test

Thank you but we have done two DNA tests, his family requested the 2nd so we have the proof.
Just not sure where to start with it to be honest

My dad added his dad, and both his parents are dead so certainly in those cases you don’t need consent!

I wouldn't think your mother would get a say. A birth certificate Is based on facts. If you and your father brought the case forward it would be nothing to do with her.

Thanks for all the help. Will look into it if it can be done 😀
