Don't know where to turn?

Hi all. I can't find where my ex is living with my children. We split up and She left a few years ago and wouldn't give me her address but I know she's in England. I'm in Scotland. I have no contact with her family. Would a lawyer be able to find out where they are? And how?. I don't want to spend a fortune on fees if there's going to be no success. I know I should have done this earlier and not waited but I was in a bad place. I have worked hard to better myself and I'm in a much better position now to be a good father.

Do you have any idea where in England she would go? If you couldn’t narrow it down slightly I definitely don’t think you’d get much help. Also it depends what caused her to leave whether people would be willing to help. Does she have social media? Could you get someone else to look for her profiles?

Are you on their birth certificate? If you are maybe the police can help as you have parental rights, unless you're not allowed contact.

Did you have any mutual friends with her that you can contact?

What about finding her on social media?

There are plenty of investigators that will trace someone for you. It won't cost you a fortune.

Why did she go away? What were the problems between you?

Google Coram. They are a big children’s charity that put children at the heart of their work. Part of their work is running legal advice centres for children’s issues. They may be able to give you some advice.

You can issue an application and either put down no address or her last known address in England. The court will order the authorities to tell the court her last known address.
