Does anyone have any experience of adding a step parent to a CAO? I've seen they are not granted very often, but truly believe this would be beneficial for the children involved (step parent has lived with the children since very early childhood, new siblings born into family, step dad provides day to day care). The other parent is unlikely to agree with this request, but has good contact with the children, and deals with my husband more than me ( ex was abusive so my husband handles hand overs/communications. Ex has stated he is happy with this many times).
Are there any pre requisites for this?
Are they really rare?
Has anyone applied for this successfully?
