I am currently waiting for a final hearing for my children. A section 7 has been done recommending that the children are with me 7 nights from 14. They have been with their mother 5 nights a week for 5 years now and their attendance is one of the worst the courts had ever seen
Even in a complete share care situation is there always one parent who is known as the resident parent. Whose address is at the school, doctore etc?
The welfare officer as the school has said that the children get to school whe with me but their mother for 5 years has never taken their education seriously.

No - neither is known as the resident parent - the order would be (if made according to the s7 report) the the child lives with both parents, and then sets out the timetable.

Don't know why it's only shared care. Their education would be sorely disrupted if mother doesn't change her ways - missing half the schooling they were before is still damaging.

Thank you for your reply. Even if the courts go with the recommendation and exactly 50-50. She goes away at least twice a month to see her boyfriend (has done for 6 years now) and they stay with me on that friday night as well so they will always be with me more nights than with her. Does this make a difference?
