What are the circumstances?

Aquastorm · 19/03/2020 21:28

The LPA has put the individual in a home where they don’t want to be and have spoken about suicide etc.

It is possible to challenge through the Court of Protection. However, before going down that route you may want to try mediation. I would recommend consulting a solicitor.

Hi OP, I am sorry you are going through a tough situation. Before you go down this route which is likely to be long and expensive, please think very hard about whether this is the right thing for the person in the home. Very few people actually want to go into a home but the sad reality is it is too dangerous for them to live alone anymore. People don’t like to admit they can’t cope or need extra help that’s just human nature so often the LPA has to make difficult decisions, it’s not done maliciously (well most of the time not, hopefully).
