Guarantor

Can anyone help. My partner has walked out, I stupidly told my agency who now want me to do the referencing again on my own. I didn't realise UC would accept a untidy tenancy.

I don't want my guarantor to know what is in my credit file and that I have two cars on finance. He would kill me (my ex partners car is in my name) will the agency and the referencing agency tell him that I have two cars on finance or it appear in any paper he has to sign

No they wibt tell yin but you are being very unfair to him by not telling him yourself.

Ihateselfishbastards · 21/03/2020 00:04

You sound like a massive credit risk.

ComtesseDeSpair · 23/03/2020 15:23

No, GDPR means they can’t share information about you with your guarantor without your permission.

I think you’d be morally bankrupt to let your guarantor assure your new tenancy without telling them that your financial circumstances and debts have changed, though. On benefits and with two car loans to pay, I’d imagine it’s highly likely you’re likely to find it a struggle financially and not be able to pay your rent in full at some stage. It’s one thing to ask someone to be a guarantor when them having to bail you out is a last resort and quite another to ask them when it’s very likely they’ll have to.

Lying to your guarantor would be a shitty thing to do, especially if it’s your dad.

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 23/03/2020 15:33

You're well on your way to insolvency if you have two cars on finance and are on UC. Really hope that in addition to lying to your guarantor you're refraining from any dating because it does not sound like you have good judgement when it comes to men .

Why do you have 2 cars on finance Confused

12345ann · 23/03/2020 15:54

I work full time earning £1800 a month. The second car was for my partner because he couldn't get it in his own name!

Of course he couldn't, because he was a total loser and now he's completely stuffed you. Really, really hope you learn that it's better to be single than with a low life. How do you plan to pay off your debt and your rent now?

Flower1309 · 23/03/2020 16:01

Will he continue to pay for the car, is there any way you can speak to the finance company to have it changed to his name? 1 car on finance is fine and I don't think needs disclosing. Since your partner has now left there is the risk you will have to pay for his car as well.

12345ann · 23/03/2020 16:37

He will be paying it, if he doesn't then I have spoken with finance to come to a deal.
