Will: codicil to add additional child?

Hi, I'd appreciate some advice, thanks.

My husband and I have wills, and the beneficiary for both of us is our elder son. We've since had another child - do I need to get a codacil added to the will to name them as a joint beneficiary, or will they automatically become a joint beneficiary?

And if I do need to get one drawn up how do I go about this? Can I do it myself or do we need a solicitor? Our financial situation is not at all complicated.

Thanks

If your current will doesn't have provision for future children, you'll need a new will.

Codicils are for minor changes, not adding a beneficiary.

The Will was badly drafted if it didn't provide for future children. Are you sure it doesn't already provide?
