Choice of Will Executors

My parents were getting free professional will executors from their old jobs but the deal has now changed and the cost would be £5k. So my parents have suggested my siblings and I are the executors. One of my siblings and I don't get on and there has already been 'bad feelings' re money and my parents favouring one of us over the others.

My feeling is given the situation with my one sibling being the will executors would be a nightmare and drag on and its just not worth the bad feelings. What is the cost of a professional will executor? What are the options? Many thanks

You will still end up doing most of it but it may control some issues about emptying the house etc

They usually charge a percentage of the value of the estate I believe of just the number of hours they spend and it really adds up if it’s complex.

Years ago my unmarried aunt had her private bank as executors. They charged 2.5%. That was a long time ago and could be more now!
