Does the executor have legal title to assets?

Hello

Funny query. Obviously when someone dies the executor is appointed who looks after the estate and settles it onto the beneficiaries in due course.

The executor has the authority to deal with the estate, but are they the legal owners of the assets (like a trustee legally owns the assets in a trust)?

Any private client or will writers help me please?

Yes. They hold the assets in trust for the beneficiaries of the estate.
