Based on reading another thread. If you received confidential Medical information in error, regarding a child who was subsequently adopted and you knew you shouldn't have received the information but decided to forward the report to the childs new GP. Would you be committing an offence, and would it make a difference if you believed you were acting in the childs best interests.

If you receive it in error you should alert the body who sent it to you and destroy the documents.
