Had a break in

Hey moved in to a new rented property the inventory stated that there was an alarm and security lights. None of these worked which I raised with the estate agent pretty much as soon as I moved in she said they would sort it around a month later nothing was sorted we then had someone break in and steal our cars. Do I have any rights to seek compensation from the estate agents ? Thanks in advance

Probably not but did your insurers believe there was an alarm and security light?

It depends on how your insurance company feel about the faulty alarm etc. Have you made a claim yet?

I’m in the process of making a claim it’s very long winded . My partners car was stolen too and they have already paid out without questions around the alarm , the only items they took were the two cars
