My ex is in catalyunia and I’m in curona in Spain I moved a couple of months ago he sent me a email demanding I tell him how I’m planning to support myself, what school dc will attend, what medical care they’ll get and how I will facilitate access.

He wants me to travel once a month down there with dc who is under 3 (it’s a 5 hours journey one way plan train metro etc) and he will only pay €100 euros he earns after tax about 1000 ish.

After saying he can’t afford Jan/feb he is now saying he won’t pay unless I answer his questions I have answered the family bit. After I said 100 was too little and there’s no way I can afford to go down once a month etc he is saying he will set a up a savings account and put it in there because atleast he knows the money will be spent on dc.

*we are unmarried
*its his only child
*he is on birth certificate
*he can’t afford to go to court
*he was undocumented emotionally and financially abusive to me.

Can anyone tell me what my child’s rights are? And if I have to answer all of his questions?

The 100€ is maintenance. I’ve repeatedly said he can visit twice a month if he wants as he says he has a right to see dc every 15 days. He says he can’t. He also says he will move closer in September.

Part of the reason I left was we were being evicted, I’m living with my family now and we are all british citizens.

You’re more likely to get an answer if you post on a Spanish message board.

It sounds fair enough to ask about school and medical etc

@Collaborate do you know one? A lot of the ones I looked at are pretty dead.

They're more likely to have life in them (on Spanish law) than a UK website.

I went through this 10 years ago. All I can tell you is it's a long and expensive process. Tbh his questions don't sound unreasonable, it's gets a lot worse if it goes to court as the ministry of finance and ministry of child welfare have to submit reports I was in Madrid and my ex in Malaga all the legal proceedings were in Malaga as that was the last joint address we had. It went on for over 2 years and I must have spent over ten grand. I now have a great relationship with the kids so it was worth every penny.
