Divorce form B

Hi, my (ex) husband filed for divorce based on 2 years separation with consent. I agreed and I'm happy about the divorce. But the financial issues should be resolved before the decree absolute and when I responded to the online application, it said I could put a delay on the decree absolute until then by filing a form B, which I have sent to the court.

We are living in accommodation provided free by his employer so I want to delay the decree absolute to maintain home rights as we have 3 children and he has substantial overseas assets which he refuses to discuss and has said the children will live with him and I should leave which I don't agree with because he works full time and I do part time and have taken care of the little ones the majority of the time so I can't just leave them. He just says he is keeping his money and that's it. He thinks he is above the law. We have been married for 13 years.

I called the court last week and they said they have my form B and a red flag will be put on file to stop the decree absolute until the financial issues are resolved. However, I called the court about something else and she said the form B won't stop the decree absolute, so I am rather confused because I am being told different things. My decree nisi was last week so only 6 weeks until potential DA.

Has anyone filed a form B and what happened?

I can't afford to spend a lot on a lawyer when I might need to find a flat for the children in case I loose home rights.
