How do we get mosque records

Is there is any way of getting a mosques records of marriage/nikat.

It was not a legal uk marriage just the religious ceremony.

Could you ask the Imam at the mosque? Or whoever is in charge of record keeping there?
(Sorry I’m not Muslim and don’t know the technicalities)

Did the nikah happen at a mosque? They don't usually.

The imam that read the Nikah will have a copy of it but that would have been passed on to the couple.
