Hi everyone,
I wonder if anyone can enlighten me. My ex was abusive in every way apart from physically hitting me. He was eventually arrested but wasn't charged (lack of evidence but the Police wanted him out and found this was the best way). I ended up taking him to court as he would threaten to keep the kids on contact etc. He got every other weekend and half the holidays.
To this day he persists in putting emotional pressure on them, refuses to communicate, shouts and screams at them, and is generally crap. I've spoken to children's services and they said basically take him to court to get contact limited/send him on a parenting course. Obviously I had to do mediation first and he's refused. He's been told by a "well informed friend" that it is a bad idea. To me it seems crazy. Surely it looks bad he's refused?
For the record I was asking for mediation to discuss communication (he ignores me even when it's health related), handover, childrens sickness (as he has left them very ill before), and whether he would benefit from support. All very mild stuff.
Any ideas?
