Hi everyone
Could really do with some advice , I’m awaiting a late section 37 and just wondering about a barrister for the next court date ( it was awful last time ) if the section 37 makes recommendations will the court even listen if I don’t agree ?
Just wondering if it’s worth paying for a barrister when most likely the judge will make decisions based on section 37
Many thanks in advance

Are you wanting hospital or prison?

TitianaTitsling · 22/01/2020 22:20

As in they say prison but you don't agree and want to go to hospital instead?

Are you talking about a section 37 child welfare report? If you can afford legal representation then I would definitely advise it if a s37 has been ordered

Although if it goes into the public law outline you will get legal aid anyway

Sorry I wasn’t clear it’s a section 37 in regards to children / family

Definitely get a barrister if humanly possible. Are you in the south east?

Jessica75 · 25/01/2020 21:41

Thanks I’m in the north west, the section 37 is so far a week late but I have had a conversation about it , just wondering if I should save the barrister for next time as what the section 37 will recommend ( if true ) would be the best outcome I could have .
I was very intimidated last time in court and it’s making me nervous.
