How to get old crime referance numbers?

I am due to apply to have a court order against my ex extended this year. How do i get past crime referance numbers from when i have reported him for breaking the court order?

He broke the court order several times last year all of which were reported to the police but due to a delay in infortmation between the forces he wasnt actual being sought after for arrest. By the time the forces had shared information he had gone to another country and been there for months

I wasnt aware of any of this until the police came to my house ( months later ) and told me about the delay in information and how he was now abroad

The police said if i wanted they could apply to have him extradited or deported ( i cant remember which phrase they used ) or they said because he had been abroad for months and hadnt contacted me i could leave it and be glad he had forgotten about us as such. I signed a thing to say i just wanted to leave it because i didnt want to have to face court again,

When i am applying to have the court order extended i want to include this information but to me it sounds unbeliavble, i would feel more confident if i had the police crime referance numbers to confirm this story as it does just sound so far fetched doesnt it? Or am i over thinking it?

He attacked me infront of our children because they were crying so my children are included on the court order ( i didnt ask for this they just did it ) which is why im flapping, because my children are on the court order its not gaurenteed to be extended ( if it was myself they would do it indefinate ) they did the 1st order for 1 year, the 2nd order for 2 years and this time will be the 2nd time of me applying but the 3rd order if accepted ( 1st time was when he was found guilty, i didnt know they were going to give a court order to not contact any of us ) and i just want to be able to put in enough evidence so they extend it again

The first time i went to court to give evidence his soliciter was awful, i realise this is their job but it is not somthing i would want to go through again.

Any of the officers that you’ve had dealings with should be able to provide you with the crime reference numbers, dates, offence ( eg what you alleged happened). Were you allocated an officer from a domestic violence / abuse department when you initially made the allegation?

I was originally and i still have his email address but i havnt spoken to him since 2017 so im not sure it would be appropriate to contact him?

But actually, it was the same man ( different to policeman i emailed ) who visited me twice about the ex so would he be my assigned officer as such? I dont remember his name or have his details though. Im going to double check my emails now though incase we have spoken in email at some point

I moved areas before it went to court so any time i have reported him has been to the police in the area i am in now and not the police area i originally started with

I would use the email address of the person you have - either the one from 2017 or the guy who visited you ( if you can find it). Sometimes it can be tricky to get to the right people when you call up general police numbers and you end up repeating yourself endlessly as you get shunted around. Just use any contact you have - if they’re no longer in the same department ask for a contact name and direct number for someone else. It’s not an unreasonable request. Good luck

Ive found the email for the 2nd policeman, i emailed him in september 2018.

I have anxiety so im probably overthinking it but is he likely to be annoyed ive emailed him about it? Ill be really embarrassed if he tells me its not his job or somthing

He won’t mind ok. You may be only able to get the crime details for the force area he works in. ( I’m a police officer and have worked in Domestic Abuse units but I’m non operational now) OK. How about this off the top of my head.

If you recall you visited me on two occasions to discuss the prospect of going to court ( if that was the case). I Currently have a “ insert name” of Court order issued by “ Court Name” on “date”. The element in relation to my children “ insert names and dob” is due for renewal soon and I intend to go to court to seek an extension. I would appreciate it if you could provide me with the Crime reference numbers, dates and offences for all crimes reported by myself against “ insert name & dob” to assist with that application. For reference I am now living at “ insert address” but was living at “ insert address” at the time of reporting. Apologies if you are no longer involved in these matters but I would appreciate it if you could forward my request to the relevant unit or provide me with a contact name and number of someone who can assist.

I wouldn’t contact the police offficers I would call 101 give my details and the dates of incidents and ask for the crime numbers, it should be provided within minutes if not seconds (used to be my job!)
