Hi can anyone advise me please ?

I purchased a cover for my iPad , ( the guy who served me had a few days previously put a new screen saver on it ) I went in and chose the cover I wanted and he said if it doesn't fit to come back
it doesn't fit because it's covering most of the camera and makes photos look look like they are framed with shade , it's also very loose so I repackaged it exactly as it was in the shop and found the receipt so I can return it after the holiday and the receipt is printed "no refunds exchange only "
I thought this wasn't legal ? And that you had a right to return unsuitable goods ? It was £24.99

A quick google search... You have the legal right to a refund if you return your faulty good within 30 days of receiving it, regardless of what the store's return policy says

Thank you

Is it faulty or unsuitable though? Two different things.

It doesn't fit correctly over the camera lens and is a bit loose , I don't think it's faulty just how it's made so basically not fit for purpose , it's the only type they have so didn't want to swap it for another one with the same problems

Yeah what he said in person overrides what the receipt says, and what the sale of goods (consumer rights) act says overrides them all.
So you should be able to get a full refund. Especially if you packaged it up nicely again.
