Damp negligence and compensation

Hi guys

I'll keep this brief. I moved into a HA property back in feb 2017, was infested with wood lice and a physical damp problem in the kitchen (initially). After many calls, the kitchen was ripped out and damp proofed. A month later there was still a smell of damp and blowing of plaster in other rooms of the property. I have made over 100 phone calls, probably 40 calls outs from repairs team which have all been pointless as no one finds where damp is coming from so they disappear into thin air and don't return my calls. 3 years on after a lot of stress and now a daughter with asthma (caused by this damp and mould exposure) the top guy finally comes in finds a leak which has obviously been leaking for 3 years plus and has now ordered for leak to be fixed and the rooms affected damp proofed and rerendered! My question is my housing has been so negligent to my cries for help over the past 3 years and my daughter is now an asthma sufferer because they have not sorted this problem sooner! Does anyone know if I have a compensation claim before I get solicitors involved?
