can I change sealed consent order?

Hi,

I've made a consent order and it has been sealed by the court. It was made in a rush and it was too late to change when I realised some of the wording doesn't make sense. Is there any way to appeal/change it? If yes, what would be the best way to do it? I don't want to go to a court hearing.

Thanks.

Yes, you can ask the court to amend under the slip rule. Best to agree with the other side first and then write to the Court setting out the errors and corrections (and I’d include a copy of the perfected order).

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Do you know what fee I need to pay? I assumed I need to ask my original solicitor/whoever made the consent order to make amendments?

No fee under the slip rule as it’s just correcting an error. Was the order lodged by a solicitor? I assumed you were a litigant in person. If it was lodged by a solicitor, they should write re the corrections (and not charge you since they should have checked it before lodging).
