Help! I need some advice on a tenancy situation please.
I’ve signed an agreement for a 12 month tenancy. It’s a room in a shared house where the non resident landlord lets out individual rooms.
Here’s the difficult bit. I wasn’t due to move in until the end of January (my DH and I are splitting) but wanted to secure the room and also make sure that I had the rent covered so I gave him 12 months rent in advance.
He then started to send me messages that I felt were inappropriate and I changed my mind. I told him I didn’t want the room and wanted my money back. He told me he’d let me have it if he was able to find another tenant. That was several weeks ago and I’ve heard nothing since.
Are there any landlord and tenant specialists that could help me please?
