ex saying tradesmen are trespassing

separated 1 year. going through court for divorce/kids/finances.

i live in the family home with the children. he lives with OW and new baby.

I am currently having the house/garden made over....in the night he emailed saying gardeners are trespassing on my property and they are to stop. he messaged the gardeners via fb so has seen the van outside or someone has let him know...

we jointly own the mortage - he no longer pays it.

does anyone know if i do need his permission for any work - i called the police as they are involved with us already - and they said it is a civil matter.....so i've instructed my gardeners to carry out....but am a little ? if its ok.

The house is in joint names? If so I suppose they are on his property as well as yours, but the Police have already said it is a civil matter.

Just sounds like he is being pathetic. Is he paying for half the bills on the house? I would speak to Citizens advice and look into buying him out? Also you could call your mortgage company as they may be able to give advice as your ex is basically a landlord now for the property

They are not trespassing. He is harassing you. It isn’t a civil matter. You might want to go back to the police and make a complaint of harassment. What would you think if he emailed all visitors to your home telling them they were trespassing and not to visit again?

Yes the police are aware of the harrassement and my lawyer is dealing with everything else.
