Personal injury claim advice

I started a thread last month and appreciate the responses I received.

Basically I had asked my claims handler if I could speak to a qualified solicitor or barrister about a second offer I had received. I was only told about this just decide the expiration of 21 day consideration period. Despite assurances that a solicitor would contact me, this has not happened.

I have submitted a formal complaint and await their response. The legal ombudsman need to see how the insurance company responds - if they become involved it may take months until the case is allocated.

Is there anything else I can do? I have seen some solicitors offer a ‘review your claim’ service. I am worried I will incur legal fees from the car insurance claims handlers if I switch. Would they be able to invoice me if the reason I switch is due to poor customer service/non existent legal advice?

I do also have legal cover on the home insurance so am wondering if this would cover another firm of solicitors or whether I should access a no win no fee arrangement?

Thanks again
