My complication is difficult - and the ex is being also.

What options, if any, can l look to have a solicitor. I am on minimum wage barely scraping by and he is worth a considerable amount.

Litigation loans are sometimes available. If the asset matrix is sufficiently favourable you may qualify for a loan.

Also courts can make Legal Services Orders, which means the other side pays your legal fees as you go along.

However a Legal Services Order won't be made unless you have applied for a litigation loan first.

I can not obtain a litigation loan as a few CCJs against me.

You still need to apply for one litigation loan and one from a general high Ct. lender before you can apply for an LSO. The LSO application itself can cost a bit. You'll definitely need to take advice before starting that.

Another possibility is asking a firm to consider a Sears Tooth agreement, where they get paid at the end.

Iceberg Client Credit litigation loans doesn't do credit scoring, btw.

Have you been married a longish time?
How big are the marital assets?
Have you any children together?
These seem to be the most important questions in a divorce.

I would say get a separation order or anything that prevents him stripping/hiding assets....that's a big danger.

There is a website wikidivorce which seems to have some fans (I don't think it's good, but maybe that's me)
