Job Offer withdrawn after informing employer that I am pregnant.

Hi all,

I originally posted this on as a pregnancy thread. As the situation has evolved I have been advised to post on here. I was offered a job yesterday afternoon and although I know I was under no obligation to inform them, I told the employer that I was expecting in December. Since then I have had the job offer withdrawn as they felt that I “misled them” and wasn’t honest. Is anyone able to give me some advice if I were to take this further.

"we hate the fact that you weren't upfront" Confused

I have never read such an unprofessionally worded letter! I think you are well shot of them.
Here you don't have to disclose any medical conditions and interviewers are not allowed to ask.

wineandsunshine · 04/05/2020 21:16

Wow what a read! Good luck for Wednesday op - keep us updated!

TwatCat · 04/05/2020 21:22

Only now seeing these, I've read all of your posts on here OP and I'm shocked that they think they could get away with saying what they did. I'd be glad I wasn't working for them if it was me.
Just wanted to say a huge good luck for Wednesday!!!!

And congratulations on the birth of your daughter, I know it's a little late Confused

Char1997 · 04/05/2020 21:23

aw thank you everyone it honestly means a lot!
In regards to legal advice, initially I spoke to someone high up in HR, a union rep and and employment law lawyer who all advised me on what to do!
