Job Offer withdrawn after informing employer that I am pregnant.

Hi all,

I originally posted this on as a pregnancy thread. As the situation has evolved I have been advised to post on here. I was offered a job yesterday afternoon and although I know I was under no obligation to inform them, I told the employer that I was expecting in December. Since then I have had the job offer withdrawn as they felt that I “misled them” and wasn’t honest. Is anyone able to give me some advice if I were to take this further.

Good luck OP, what's the next date for anything to happen?

So ladies! have had an update, just received my official employment tribunal letter regarding a preliminary hearing. The respondent still has 28 days to go forward or go back to ACAS and settle. My preliminary hearing has been set for the 6th of May 2020 so still got quite a long while to go!

Will keep you all updated as this progresses!

Bloody marvellous!! Good on you for not letting them get away with it!!!

donttellmetwice · 22/11/2019 14:42

Fab! Well done you.

ChrisPrattsFace · 22/11/2019 14:48

It’s such a long winded process isn’t it! Sounds like things are still all going in the right direction though OP!

Angelrocket · 22/11/2019 14:48

Good for you, well done!

Mamabear88 · 22/11/2019 15:00

They absolutely 100% cannot legally do that. Keep that email as proof and take them to the cleaners. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and screw the job, I wouldn't want to work for people like that anyway!

woogal · 22/11/2019 15:02

Well done

redexpat · 22/11/2019 15:05

Well done! Please keep going.

SleepWarrior · 22/11/2019 15:35

May must feel a very long time away! You have a preliminary date though, that's great.

blitzen · 22/11/2019 15:46

Contact Pregnant Then Screwed. Think they have a free helpline.

MarshaBradyo · 22/11/2019 15:47

Well done op keep going

blitzen · 22/11/2019 15:48

Sorry! Didn't see your update there, OP. Pregnant Then Screwed may well have some good advice.

HermioneWeasley · 22/11/2019 15:49

Good news OP.

username2020 · 22/11/2019 16:13

good news OP, blimey that's quite some time away for only a preliminary hearing! my ET1 has been submitted and I'm shitting it. still no grievance outcome yet either.

Let us know what the employer comes back with.

billybagpuss · 22/11/2019 16:14

Well done OP, lets keep fingers crossed that they settle.

Teensruletheroost · 22/11/2019 19:16

Well done OP. Glad it is moving (even if May is a very very long time away) and that may well prompt them into settling.
