Job Offer withdrawn after informing employer that I am pregnant.

Hi all,

I originally posted this on as a pregnancy thread. As the situation has evolved I have been advised to post on here. I was offered a job yesterday afternoon and although I know I was under no obligation to inform them, I told the employer that I was expecting in December. Since then I have had the job offer withdrawn as they felt that I “misled them” and wasn’t honest. Is anyone able to give me some advice if I were to take this further.

Well done OP. In your prelim you will be asked to confirm the exact allegations and briefly the respondent will respond. It's pretty admin based and at the end the judge will decide how long the tribunal will be listed for.
Well done and good luck! X

In the US it's illegal to do that. I'd assume it was elsewhere as well. Time to contact a lawyer with regards to discriminatory hiring?

Apileofballyhoo · 03/01/2020 15:56

Congratulations on your little girl, OP. Glad you're enjoying your precious days with her. It all goes by really fast. Take loads of photos and videos!

Hope the company gets screwed, by refusing to settle/respond they've caused you so much stress.

Congratulations on your baby OP. In a way it’s helpful that this shower have been so useless - you wouldn’t have wanted to be at the sharp end of negotiations so close to the birth.
