Speeding?

I was travelling at 32mph in a 30mph zone, slowing down as I approached a Truvelo speed camera. There was another vehicle in front of me. The camera flashed, but by the time I reached the three white lines I was below 30mph.

The three white lines cross the whole road. There was traffic from both sides.

I am halfway certain that I wasn’t caught speeding but I would like some reassurance. I’m am suffering with a nasty MH condition which means I can’t let go and become very anxious. If somebody could help me, I’d be very grateful.

From what I understand. It's highly unlikely you will recieve a ticket.

You would need to be 10% plus 2mph to reach the prosecution threshold for most forces.

So 35mph and over. Even then they apply a 10% plus 9mph criteria before points and a fine.

So basically it's this

30-35mph = no action.

36-43mph = speed awareness course

43mph and over = points and a fine.

Dh just got a nip for 35 in 30. The three lines only mark one end of the zone over which the speed is taken.

Even if you were at 32mph when you passed and we’re not slowing, that is within the margin. So don’t worry.
