Sorry if this sounds absolutely ridiculous but I need to get this out there.
Driving home from work today and the route I normally take is closed for works. There are diverts in place but these take you through some narrow lanes, in an area that I'm not at all familiar with.
SatNav isn't working due to no signal and I'm hoping for the best, I had google mapped earlier in the day to try and get an idea. I turn down a lane and low and behold it's the wrong turning....I have turned down what appears to be a private lane to a farm (although no signs that I saw). I obviously realise my mistake and stop to turn in an area with a small opening at one side. I do a version of a 3 point turn when I hear a thud, at this point I think I have hit the dip on the side (where the land goes down either side of the path if that makes sense). Ok that's ok, I carry on.
When I look in my rear view mirror I see there was a wall, no more than 2ft tall, and it later dawns on me that I may have hit that. When I get home there is a small scuff at the back drivers side, I fear my suspicions may be true and I've caught the wall while turning.
Anyway the real question is WWYD? I was going very slow as I was turning and I cant imagine there was any damage to the wall but now my anxiety has kicked in and I'm crying and waiting for the police etc. to arrive. I know it sounds silly to some but that's how my brain works.
I don't even know the area I was in to report it and I had considered going back tomorrow to see if I could speak to the owner but then I don't want them turning potentially nothing in to something (you never know) or for them to think I did it and knew and drove off :(
Please help me I'm so worried.
