Can I switch to collect and pay CMS?

Hi
My ex currently pays the minimum amount set by CMS every month, but any time he gets in a mood he threatens to reduce payments or stop them. He does this as a method of control over me.
I feel like I'm constantly on edge about it because if he doesn't pay I'll struggle with paying for after school care etc.
He hasn't actually missed a payment yet, but he knows he has the upper hand by being able to threaten it.
Can I ask CMS to move to collect and pay (I know I'd pay a fee, it's worth it for my mental health tbh) if he hasn't yet missed a payment?
I can't have this hanging over me forever 😔
Thank you

No he would need to be missing payments first.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that if he were to lose his job the money would stop instantly and considering how you would manage the situation in that circumstance.

Hi,
Thanks for responding.
Yes I understand it's not guaranteed money if he were to lose his job etc. Although not ideal if that were the case I'd have to cut my hours at work or get an evening/night shift job instead.

Does anyone know if you can move to collect and pay if a payment isn't the correct amount? If he reduces it?

If a payment is late or wrong they will write to him as long as he responds giving them some flannel about how he misunderstood or made an innocent mistake. They will let him restart paying as before.
