Question about housing benefit...?

I have a bit of a problem and I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge about it. I don't have anyone to be a guarantor but I do have someone who would lend (emphasis on lend) me 6 months rent up front which the landlord has said they might accept instead. Would I still be able to claim housing benefit if that was the case? I also wondered if you have to inform your landlord if you are pregnant? Thanks for any help.

Yes certainly - you'd claim it and pay them back monthly.
No you don't have to tell anyone if you're pregnant. But don't go for an obviously not child friendly property as they may end the tenancy when you have the baby.

Thank you that's really useful.

As long as property isn't listed as no children otherwise landlord may try to evict you when he finds out
