Does anyone legally qualified know? After 31/10 assuming no deal as seems most likely... if we wanted with POA to move an elderly relative from
ROI to UK (she was born in NI but normally resident in ROI and has an Irish passport...) does anybody know the logistics etc or would we be better moving her ASAP.

This is a very upsetting issue, so respectfully if you're not legal could you please not comment

Freedom of movement between the U.K. and RoI pre-dates us joining the EU so isn't affected by Brexit.

Given that she was born inNI she's British anyway!

If you go to the Citizens Information website https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/

Click 'categories' then 'scroll down to 'moving countries' Then 'moving abroad' then 'freedom of movement in eu' then scroll to 'common travel area between Ireland and uk'

There was some uncertainty for a while but the position regarding the common travel area between the ROI and U.K. is now confirmed, thankfully.
