Luton airport parking

Evening. I need to collect a friend's child at Luton Airport. I imagine I'll need to park the car for an hour or so, between 12 noon and 1pm. I've read horror stories of accidental parking in the wrong place at great expense and really want to avoid this! Can anybody advise me, please?

Park at Luton airport parkway bus station, it’s cheaper and less hassle. There’s a regular car park there. Then pay £2.50 and get the shuttle bus to the airport which will drop you to the terminal. Shuttle takes maybe 10 mins. You can’t miss it because everyone getting off the train to go to Luton airport has to catch it. There’s no Direct train to Luton airport per se.
Get the shuttle bus back and pick up your car from the car park. That way there’s no fighting to get a space in the airport car parks or paying their inflated prices.

I agree.
I got £100 fine for pausing for around 30 seconds to try to figure out the lack of signage.
Luton airport is a complete mess of roadworks and construction.

They have a very short stay area and you must avoid this! I have just parked in standard parking but it’s fearsomely expensive! The station parking might be cheaper but not necessarily better! It’s a lot less convenient!

Try some of the local hotels, some of them are doing Tea and Cake for £5.00ish and free parking.

Thanks everyone. Will use the the Parkway station today and let you know how I get on!

I parked in the long stay car park at Luton when doing drops offs, free for the first hour, £4 for 2-4 hrs then it jumps massively.

But there's a free shuttle bus from the car park to the airport.

I used the Parkway station as suggested above: £2.80 for the car park, £3.80 for my return bus ticket, and £1.20 for the child’s single. Very straightforward and quick. Recommended.
