Flood damage by builders

Our builder caused a flood in our house and has accepted liability. Initially he said he would fix it all and not go through insurance. He now wants our insurance details. Will my premium be affected by this? If selling our home will I have to declare that we have had a flood in our house even though it was caused solely by the builder's negligence? Any advice very gratefully received. Thanks.

If he's making an insurance claim, why does he need your insurers details? If you made a claim from your insurers, I can see why they might want his insurers details, if he's admitted it was his fault.

A 'flood' in the sense of water escaping from a pipe or boiler that was damaged, no you wouldn't have to tell anyone that when selling.

He should be claiming through his insurance, not yours. Why is he asking for your insurance details?
If you make a claim for the flood damage through your insurance then you would incur the increments going up but its not you that should be claiming as its his mistake that caused the flood.
Do you have the acknowledgement in writing that he caused the flood?
