Divorce, Name Change, Different ways??

I have separated from my husband, 6 1/2 months now. We have just split the house, i.e. he bought me out and money in my bank..

I want to change my name to my maiden name, are there only two official options?

1. Divorce
2. Name change via deedpoll

You can just start using your maiden name. If you need any documentation you can use a change of name deed which doesn't cost anything. You can get one from freedeedpoll.org.uk/.

However, you do need to get divorced and get a proper financial settlement. Until you do that it is open to either of you to bring a financial claim against the other notwithstanding the fact that you've already sorted out a financial split.
