Name change after divorce

I've just filed papers for decree absolute (out of time) and I'm not sure what happens with name change.

Can I keep my name to be the same as my DC?

It was a long time ago that I originally filed for divorce and is only being finalised now and I really can't remember if I filled anything in regarding name change at the time (as one article I read suggests I will have done).

As an adult you can do whatever you want regarding your name. Whether you keep your married name, revert to your maiden name or change to something completely different is entirely up to you.

That's what I thought initially until I read this article saying I'd have chosen whether to keep my name or not in the initial application - long story but that was 10 years ago so I really don't remember.
