Dh and I are married. No mortgage on the house. I am not on the deeds and was fine with the reason why not. I was taken off. Nor relevant now. I will be put back on it once dh can organise time to do it. Should we split where do I stand? If dh was to die where would I stand? We have children aged 13-17.

If you split the house will be treated as an asset of the marriage. You will be entitled to a fair share of the assets.

If your husband dies, what happens to the house depends on what his will says (if he has one). If he doesn't have a will, tell him to make one!

Thank you. We both have wills. If one dies it's covered and if we both die it's covered plus if the whole family died together that's covered too.
