Help advice for a car incident

Hi everyone

My first incident and I stupidly hit a parked car around a corner with the back corner of my car bumper and caused scratches on the parked car driver's side door panel :(

It was my fault, but no-one was in the parked car but I waited a bit and the lady who owes it came out a building nearby to see what happened. I was very apologetic and she was very calm and nice to me and we exchanged details etc.

I reported the incident to my insurer but made no claim as it was very minor scratch damage to my car, but the lady's car has got quite a bad scratch.

She said she'll get some repair quotes and get back to me soon, but should I just tell her let our insurers deal with it?

Thank you so much

Yes ask her to pass it on to her insurance company so they can contact yours. Have you notified your insurance company of the potential claim against you.

Hi OkBobble

Yeah, I gave a description of the damage and photos of the damage done to my insurance company.

I'll just text her and say to make it easier on everyone to let her contact my insurance company directly or go through hers. But I think she wanted me to pay privately outside insurance.

She doesn't get to chose. Just tell her the want her to deal with your insurance.
