Probably, but in what context?

TeenTimesTwo · 10/02/2019 15:09

Well, they certainly could if you wanted to adopt a child.

Sorry should have been clearer a referral was made about me and its an initial assesment. No plan in place. Ex is absent but was violent and has severe MH issues. Havent seen him in over 2 years.

If it's an initial assessment and you're not neglecting the dc to the point sw would want to remove them from your care, I can't see why they would need to speak to someone you haven't seen in two years.

They could do as part of a CP plan or similar, but would normally only do that if he was in your DCs lives

Thanks. She mentioned my ex ALOT as in wouldnt drop it, even said she isnt finished questioning me about him and will ask more “next time”! someone said she could contact him so I thought I would check if thats the case.

I wouldn't want to say no for definite as I'm not a SW but I don't think it's standard practice
