Complaints and ombudsman

Hi
Has anyone had any experience using ombudsman to complain about a solicitor?
I feel I have a good reason to complain and have already put it in writing to my solicitor but no response yet.
I think they’re probably going to have an answer for everything but feel I need to fight my corner
Any positive experiences ?
TIA

I had a problem with cowboy Solicitors & refused to pay for the shoddy service & threatened them with the ombudsman to which they caved. What are the circumstances?

I have complained about my solicitor to them first and also to LO

Can’t say I have a positive experience - two parts to my complaint - asked them to stop review on one part - they ignored this and only way I can challenge decision is now back through courts - although I will be complaining as to why they ignored my emails to stop review.

Other part still ongoing - SRA and bar council next - lost all faith in justice system!

My exdh has applied to vary sm.
I paid for a 1hr meeting with solicitor at which point I wasn’t sure if I was going to pursue because of the cost and possible outcome (in his favour)
I had to transfer £1500 to solicitor so he could start the ball rolling due to imminent first appt
I met with exdh and we’ve agreed on a settlement which we are both comfortable with
I emailed my solicitor, informed him and that I no longer required his services.Of course they said I shouldn’t settle and 5 emails numerous tel calls I now have a bill for £1600!
I have literally been going round in circles with them even saying I would sign a disclaimer.they didn’t tell me I could act for myself
So many repetitive emails, telephone calls for nothing!
I’m so cross and massively out of pocket
Any advice ?
