Inheritance laws

A friend of mine, unmarried, no children. Her mother has recently died and she is now left with a step father, 1 deceased half brother , one half brother, 2 nieces to the half brother, 1 nephew to the deceased brother.
She is non contact with all of the above and has not decided who she wants to leave her money to. ( but none of the above) .
I have explained that if she does not make a will then somebody from the above list will inherit which she definitely would not want. Should she pop off before she got round to making her will, who would inherit out of the above list?

Her half brother I think? (But my inheritance knowledge comes from heir hunters)

Don't know , think the half brother is right as he is a blood relative, but she needs to sort out her will/

The estate would be split with half going to her surviving half brother (or his children if he dies before her), the remainder going to her deceased half brother's child.

What prh47 said. 1/2 to living half brother and 1/2 to the nephew who inherits his deceased father’s share.
