Final hearing tomorrow

I have my final court hearing tomorrow. My ex partner took me to court over access for our two year old child.

I'm really terrified. I'm going to be subject to cross examination and I know I'll be torn to shreds on his instructions.

Can anyone who has been through this process offer any advice or what to expect?

How did it go @octobersunshine

Hi,

It went as well as it could have gone. My ex was requesting 50/50 residence to start immediately.

His barrister put the case to the magistrates and spent about 40 minutes making her submissions and she sounded bloody compelling to be honest. I really thought it wasn't going well at all.

The judgement came back and they accepted everyone of my proposals and none of his. His barrister came over after and tried to get me to agree to amendments to the judgement, it was ridiculous really. He's so arrogant he thought he couldn't possibly not get what he wants, I think he was stunned.

I've spent 10 months in this process, completely terrified and wondering if I should just capitulate to him and feel really emotional that I've been vindicated.

My barrister said I put a positive case which clearly demonstrated an understanding of Ds and his needs and child development. I think my ex's written submissions shot him in the foot really by constantly referring to his rights as a father and she has it so why can't I.

It's a lesson to me to be far more confident in my abilities Smile
