Is it illegal to take out credit using someone else’s address?

Hi all
As above really. My ex hasn’t lived here for a year now but he has used my address to obtain credit cards. Can anyone tell me if this is illegal?
Thanks

Yes. But the victim is the credit company, so the police, IME, will only act on their complaint.

Yes it is. And you need to take action to protect yourself. How did you find out about this? If it's via letters, then open then and contact loan /credit companies and write to them that he doesn't live there and what his address is. He is committing fraud by lying on credit applications.

Yes it is... Obtaining credit through deception is an offence. Call the companies he has got credit with and they can take action. Put a note of disassociation on your credit file with Experian and Equifax so he cannot get any more credit using your address.

It is not a victimless crime -the credit companies pass the cost onto honest customers through higher interest rates.
