Using private property as office space

Hello , just wondering if any one has any idea on this , me and my husband are currently looking to move Home ( rented ), I've found a flat I like the look of but my husband just informed me that the business he works for has just taken it to use as office space .
The property is not listed as commercial so is this legally allowed ? It's also in a very sought after seaside village where property rarely comes up to rent .

Depends on the property and business. Might require change of use planning permission. Ask the council.
