Discrimination- Mental Health

I posted on MH about this but thought I'd get some advice here.
So a couple months ago I got offered a job as a HCA. Hurrah!! I've obviously been going through pre employment checks I've had great references, ID check and enhanced DBS all fine. I had my occupational health check today and they said they don't think I'll pass because I've been in a psychiatric hospital recently. Okay, I understand fitness to practice, I'm fit to practice my GP and MH worker all agree I should be in work and am stable. I haven't SH in months and have never been a danger to others. I understand them asking questions but they delved very deep into my MH history. They didn't even talk about reasonable adjustments, they are sending of for my medical history. The thing is if I had lied and said I had no problems I would have been signed of fit to work and they wouldn't be looking through my medical history.
I believe they could be being discriminatory as if I didn't have MH problems I would have been employed. Plus I have never had time of work for MH problems- but have obviously had an employment gap from being in hospital.
I just want to know where I stand.
