Nightmare landlords/letting agent

Any help would be appreciated...
Last Jan (18) I moved into a rented property with my two kids. After a couple of months the carbon monoxide alarm kept going off and I called national grid. They condemned the boiler stating it was illegally built over wood and there was no cap over the flue amongst many other problems. I contacted the landlords who got really angry that I called national grid. They contacted their handyman who came and turned the boiler back on without any changes. I immediately moved my kids out of the property and into my partners house. The landlords then had the same handyman (who fitted the original boiler) fit another boiler. I had no faith in them whatsoever (they also refused to fix other things in the house like the staircase handrail which was off the wall for three months) so I left the property and rented another one. I complained to the letting agent who have completely brushed this off and acted like it was nothing to do with them (they have not apologised for me having to move my family again or helped with moving costs etc. They have been really passive with this whole matter refusing to talk about it in depth.) I have not had my deposit back as the three months elapsed before the letting agent sent the inventory for the property. I have since found out the landlords are suing the man who fitted the illegal boiler. They are charging all bills in the house to me (council tax and electric) as they say I am still liable as they refuse to break my contract (this runs til Jan 19) Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

This happened to me. (Charging of bills)
If you send council tax and energy suppliers proof of new tenancy or of when you moved out they will not charge you this debt x
