Hi all
I'd love some advice if anyone has any!

I've been offered a very lucrative job teaching in China. My children (12 and 8) will have the fees waived at a top independent school.

I am not on speaking terms with my ex. I have tried to find his address to ask for consent for them to go. He has ignored all my contact so far (he won't give me his address as he is worried I will claim maintenance from him).

I saw a solicitor this evening. They have quoted £30-50k to get the children out the country. This is an insane amount and I cannot afford it.

Does anyone have any tips for DIYing it? Or for doing it in a way that might only cost, say £10k instead of £50k? Surely most relocating parents don't spend this much!!

£10k is perhaps optimistic, but £50k is outrageously high. Should come in at between £10-15k assuming 2 hearings and a cafcass report.

Where about are you? PM me if you'd rather not say openly.

I don't know where he lives and he is refusing all my calls/requests so I'll need a private detective I think too.
