Judge ordered a section 7 and section 37?

Section 7 is a welfare report. The judge is asking CAFCASS to recommend the best course of action for the child.

Section 37 is asking the local authority to consider whether it should be taking further steps to protect the child. The LA must consider whether it should apply for a care or supervision order, provide services or assistance for the child or the family, or take any other action with respect to the child.

That's most unusual. It's either a s7 or a s37. Never both. But apparently in your case it is. Not sure what your question is though.

It’s a section 37 just read letter properly. Basically, I went out for dinner with a couple of friends and we all went back to mine a massive arguement happened between my ‘friend’ and her brother. I took my daughter to my neighbours so I could go and deal with them without her present I’d come back and he’d punched my friend in the face. Police were called and noted that my daughter wasn’t in house and I took steps to protect her.

I’m not friends with either of them anymore nor spoken to them. My ‘friend’ messaged my daughters dad and told him about what happened so he then took me to court and a section 37 has been ordered!

I’m so worried about losing my daughter, I’ve had previous social service involvement due to domestic violence but not a current open case.

Could someone advise me please x
