Hi,
Any advice much appreciated.
My h and I are in our 60’s, own our home with no mortgage.
My concern is that when i tell him I want a divorce he will make life very difficult. If I leave, how can I ensure that the house is sold and I get 50%?
There is no other party involved.
Thanks

Get legal advice. He may make things difficult but divorce is a legal arrangement and he won't have any choice but to comply in the end. In the first instance make sure you gather together all information about your finances including pensions, savings etc no matter whose name they are in.

Thanks Purple, I’ve gathered all the financial info, I don’t want anything more than a 50/50 split. I’m just worried that if he’s being difficult he could refuse to sell the house (or drag his feet) if I move out.
