I need some advice, me and my ex parnter of over 7 yrs have split up, we own the house 50/50 and both names on mortage, we have no children & not married, house is now on the market for offers over 105k (Been told it's worth 105k-110k), I am paying the mortage but not living in the property (too stressful) we have had an offer in for 95k I want to accept but ex has refused, can I make him sell at a lower price?

Only the court can do that. You have to apply under the Trust of Land Act. This is something you need to see a solicitor about.

Thank you, would I have to wait for a more sensible offer? As the house has only been on the market for 2 weeks

If my house had only been on the market for 2 weeks and I was offered 95k after being told it was worth 105-110k, I wouldn’t accept it either.

Perhaps an o/o £99k would be more sensible though? It keeps it in the search ratio of buyers searching for properties

The agents said we was best to do offers over 105k or price it at 110k, I am paying the mortage but not living in the property as I am finding the break up too hard, either can buy eachother out but I could do with a quick sale so we can both move on
